About me

I qualified as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist at The Quest Institute where I was fortunate to study with Trevor Silvester, internationally renowned hypnotherapist and creator of the wordweaving technique for hypnotic suggestion.

I have conquered problems using Cognitive Hypnotherapy and that’s why I chose to learn these skills to help others do the same.

Following the birth of my first child, I developed an anxiety problem and suffered from chronic insomnia for almost 10 years.  So while I would never say that “I know how you feel”, I do have experience of living through difficult times, wondering if I’m ever going to find a solution.  While I’m definitely not perfect now, life is so much easier, and it would be true to say “I’m having a really good day, more of the time.”

Perhaps because of my experience, I am passionate about working with pregnant women, new mothers and anyone with parenting issues.  For over 5 years, I have been a strong supporter of the North Surrey homebirth support group  to give expectant parents information and support regarding their choice of place to give birth.

I am also enthusiastic about the possibilities for using Cognitive Hypnotherapy for healing many kinds of physical problem.  I have a particular interest in working with people with hormonal imbalances such as Poly-Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and menopause difficulties.  I find this type of work fascinating and extremely rewarding.

As a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), I am bound by their comprehensive code of ethics.  This code covers many areas, including:

  • Confidentiality – all discussions are held in the strictest of confidence
  • Professional liability insurance - I am fully insured
  • Guarantees - No ethical therapist can guarantee to cure a client, but you can be assured that I will always act with your welfare as my top priority.  If I don’t believe that my methods are appropriate or my skills are sufficient to help you, then I’ll gladly refer you on.
